Food as medicine has been a powerful approach to health and healing, whether we are conscious of it or not. 80% of chronic disease is attributed to lifestyle and environmental factors. Within lifestyle, poor diet is the most important contributor and now responsible for more deaths than physical inactivity, smoking and alcohol combined. The major culprits include excessive salt, a diet low in whole grain foods, vegetables and fruits, inadequate intake of nuts and seeds, not enough fibre and way too much sugar and processed meat.

Over the past year or so, what we now know or have all experienced is the sad effect of death rates from Covid-19, which revealed 99% of those that had died, had been suffering from at least a Chronic Condition. We all need to wake up and start becoming more aware of our diet and the healing properties of food and how good food makes necessary adjustments to meet the needs of our body.
